Bastrop Current started with a simple idea: make it easy to know what is actually happening across Bastrop County, Texas. Every week we round up local events, new restaurant and business openings, family-friendly happenings, live music, and the community stories that bring Bastrop, Elgin, Smithville, Cedar Creek, Paige, and McDade together. What began as a free weekly email has grown into a full local guide and business directory, connecting neighbors with the small businesses, nonprofits, and events that make Bastrop County home. We are independently owned, locally written, and here for the long haul. Bastrop Current is a DBA of New Path Publishing LLC.
